Shared Sick Leave

Purpose


The Shared Sick Leave Program allows eligible Pierce County employees to request donations of sick leave from fellow employees upon exhaustion of their own accrued sick leave due to catastrophic illness.

Requesting Sick Leave


An employee who has exhausted their accrued sick leave due to a catastrophic illness and would like to request shared sick leave donations from fellow employees should review the program description in the Administrative Guidelines for the Career Service, Chapter 3.70, then complete a shared sick leave request form and return it to the Human Resources Department.
