The planning commission voted to recommend for approval of the Draft TIP and Ferry Program.
September 5, 2017: Submitted to the County Executive.
October 10, 2017: A public hearing was held at 9:30 a.m., at the Council Public Meeting Room, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Room 1045, Tacoma, to present the TIP and Ferry Program. The Economic and Infrastructure Development Committee (EIDC) voted to continue Proposed Ordinance No. 2017-63.
October 24, 2017: The EIDC scheduled a public hearing at 9:30 a.m., at the Council Public Meeting Room, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Room 1045, Tacoma, to consider Proposed Ordinance No. 2017-63. The committee voted to recommend a "Do Pass as Substituted" action.
November 7, 2017: A final public hearing was held to approve the Draft TIP at the regular Council Meeting. The Council voted unanimously (6-0) to adopt Ordinance 2017-63s.
November 15, 2017: The Pierce County Executive, Bruce F. Dammeier, approved Ordinance 2017-63s.
November 25, 2017: Effective date of Ordinance 2017-63s.
What is the TIP?
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) outlines Pierce County's future plans for transportation improvement projects and programs. The TIP is the primary budget workplan for building transportation improvement projects in Pierce County. This annually updated document is prepared pursuant to Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapters 36.54 and 36.81. The County Council adopted the 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program and 2017-2030 Fourteen-Year Ferry Program by Ordinance No. 2016-62s on November 15, 2016.
