Volunteer as Intern or Extern

Volunteers serve in several divisions of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and may assist deputy prosecuting attorneys, legal assistants or victim advocates.

Volunteers are typically required to make a minimum commitment of six months, and volunteer seven or more hours per week. All volunteers must undergo a thorough background investigation and interview.

Unpaid positions available

Our office works collaboratively with several local law schools and colleges to help students fulfill their educational requirements by providing externship opportunities.

Student Job Shadows


We are happy to host students for job shadows. College and high school students are encouraged to contact the office regarding scheduling a job shadow. If you would like to spend a day or more with a deputy prosecutor, victim advocate or legal assistant, please contact Lisa Hilligoss.
