Rx DropboxThe Safe, Secure Way to Dispose of Prescription Drugs
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department urges you to dispose of your unneeded or expired prescription drugs in a safe and secure way. Please do not flush medicines. This can pollute our waterways and streams, as well as our drinking water. Residents can bring expired or unneeded medicines to the South Hill Precinct, the University Place Police Department lobby, or the Edgewood City Hall lobby and put them into the secured lock box.

National Drug Take Back Day
Unwanted and unused prescription drugs can be harmful to people and the environment. You can safely dispose of these medicines - including controlled substances - during the nationwide drug "take back" day on Saturday April 26, 2014.  This one day event will provide free, anonymous collection of unwanted or expired drugs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Sheriff's South Hill Precinct, The Sprinker Recreation Center parking lot, and at the University Place Police Department.

Ease of Use
It's easy: Just drop off old medicine in the box. No forms, no paperwork, no fuss.
