LINKS Magazine's recently published list of the Top Municipal Courses in the United States ranks Chambers Bay No. 1. The links-style course, owned by Pierce County and managed by KemperSports Management since 2007, hosted the 2010 U.S. Amateur and is preparing to host the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.
The list includes a who's who of municipal courses that have played host to prestigious golf events and championships, including Bethpage Black (#2), Torrey Pines South (#5), Gold Mountain Olympic (#8), and TPC Harding Park (#10).
"We are honored to be listed alongside the great municipal golf courses that have hosted USGA championships in the past," said Matt Allen, General Manager at Chambers Bay. "We look forward to welcoming guests from across the country in advance of testing the world's best players in 2015."
The Pacific Northwest's honorees have teamed together to create a unique travel package featuring lodging at Tacoma's Hotel Murano and golf at Chambers Bay, Gold Mountain and The Home Course. For more information on that package, visit www.thechampionshipexperience.com.
