Doing Business in Pierce County

Pierce County is home to businesses large and small and all are appreciated for their contribution to the County’s economic well-being. The Pierce County Economic Development Department and its partners work together to encourage and assist small, entrepreneurial firms to thrive and grow. In each newsletter we feature one of these companies.

NW Etch is a leader in manufacturing intricate, high quality parts for commercial and defense uses. They produce thin-metal components utilizing a photo chemical etching method of fabrication. From bombers, spacecraft and helicopters, to medical devices, jewelry, and commemorative event items, the staff at NW Etch works on custom one-off solutions or tens of thousands of the component, machined meticulously. Parts can be machined from .0005 inches to.060 inches thick, and up to five feet wide. Camp Lewis-JBLM Celebrate Centennial

Happy Birthday to Camp Lewis-JBLM as they celebrate 100 years! At a recent ceremony, officials gathered from throughout the region to commemorate this historic occasion. We wonder if the citizens of Pierce County, who donated much of the land now called JBLM, had the hope that JBLM would grow to become not just an important military institution, but a very important community asset. If they did, their hopes were realized! We appreciate our largest employer in Pierce County and look forward to another 100 years!
