IF YOU HAVE A VALID GTG ACCOUNT AND YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED YOUR TOLL TICKETS WILL BE DISMISSED AND/OR HAVE BEEN DISMISSED, YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THE COURT WITH WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION FROM GTG THAT YOUR TICKET WAS DISMISSED AND THE COURT WILL DISMISS THE TICKET. OTHERWISE, YOU WILL NEED TO FILE WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE COURT INDICATING YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY GTG YOUR TICKET(S) WERE DISMISSED AND THESE WILL BE SET FOR JUDICIAL REVIEW. THE COURT'S DECISION WILL BE MAILED TO YOU IN APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 6 WEEKS AFTER RECEIPT OF YOUR WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE.

The mission of Pierce County District Court, as an independent and impartial branch of government, is to promote respect for law, society and individual rights; provide open, accessible and effective forums for dispute resolution; resolve legal matters in a just, efficient and timely manner and assure the dignified and fair treatment of all parties.


Pierce County District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction hearing the following cases:
  • Traffic and non-traffic infractions
  • Criminal and criminal-traffic misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors
  • Civil matters for damages for injury to individuals or personal property and contract disputes no greater than $75,000
  • Civil claims ('small claims'), for recovery of money not to exceed $5,000
  • Name changes
  • Antiharassment protection orders


Pierce County District Court's Operations Division, located at the County City Building, administers criminal matters, civil matters, small claims, impounds, and traffic and non-traffic infractions. The Probation Division provides offender supervision, pre-sentence investigations, alcohol/drug assessments, deferred prosecution evaluations, treatment planning & referral and administers an offender Work Crew Program, Day Reporting Program and other services by Court order.
