Welcome from Sheriff Paul A. Pastor
I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. We have been responsible for public safety in Pierce County since 1853. Today we are the second largest sheriff's agency in Washington State serving over 813,000 residents county wide including over 390,000 who reside in unincorporated county areas.
Since becoming your sheriff, I have had the privilege of meeting many of you in person at one of the many public meetings we hold each year. Whether in face-to-face meetings or on our monthly television program, 'The Sheriff's Report,' I try to keep you informed about issues of community safety. I believe that members of the Sheriff's Department have a tremendous responsibility to you in the community.
