Claims Administration
The Pierce County Risk Management Department:
  • Acquisition of contracts relating to fully insured medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, the Deferred Compensation 457(b) program, and the VEBA program
  • An employee benefits broker of record assists with benefit reviews and renewals
  • Oversees the Self Insured Medical program, with claims administered through a third-party administrator

Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' Plan (LEOFF) 

The Risk Management department also administers the benefits for the Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' Plan One (LEOFF 1) members of the agencies under the jurisdiction of the Pierce County LEOFF 1 Disability Board.
