Buy Ferry Tickets
Buying tickets
Ferry tickets are sold:
  • Online 
    • Note: You will leave the Pierce County site and be directed to a third-party site for payment. View the Third-Party Website Policy.
  • At the Steilacoom Terminal
  • Via a smartphone app
    • You can set up an account, buy tickets for one or more trips, and view used and unused tickets. The ferry crew will scan tickets right on your phone. 
    • To download, visit your smartphone's app store and search for "Pierce County Ferry Tickets." 
      • App Store (for Apple users)
      • Google Play (for Android users)

Payment Types
The following payment types are accepted: 
  • Cash (U.S. currency)
  • Debit or credit cards (Visa or MasterCard only)
  • TRANBEN or commuter vouchers

Please note: In the event the automated ticketing system is out of service, only manually sold single tickets will be available at the Steilacoom Ferry Terminal.

Refund Requests or Purchase Issues
All refund requests or resolution of purchase issues are handled by the Pierce County Public Works-Fiscal Unit. Ticketing personnel at the Steilacoom Terminal do not have the capability to process refund requests or resolve other ticket purchase issues.
