Veterans Drug Court
Definition / Purpose of the Veteran Drug Court Track

The Veterans Drug Court Track is designed to help Veterans who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. This program is supported by case managers and treatment providers through Pierce County Superior Court, Pierce County Alliance, and the Pierce County Veterans Bureau.

     Additional services include: 

  • assisting clients in finding Veteran Administration resources through our partnership with; 
    • Washington State Veterans Affairs
    • Veterans Administration including Post Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD);
  • Treatment;
  • Housing;
  • Mentoring;
  • VA compensation eligibility;
  • other resources depending on the veteran's discharge eligibility.

     Eligible Veterans must complete all program requirements which will include: 

  • Participation with Veteran mentors;
  • Chemical dependency and mental health assessment;
  • Review by the Veteran's Administration for State and Federal program eligibility.

The Superior Court Judge who supervises the Drug Court program may impose sanctions and/or rewards for client conduct at the court reviews, which occur at least weekly.
