What's Happening
This project is currently on-hold until a funding source can be identified.
About the Project
This project will provide water quality and fish passage improvement to Purdy Creek along the lower portion of the creek. The existing 135-foot, twin 48-inch corrugated metal pipe culverts under 144th Street NW and the single 165 foot, 25-square foot 5' x 5' box culvert under the Purdy Chevron gas station are considered partial barriers for fish passage.

Further design and construction of this project will not move forward until a funding source is identified.
Benefits include:
  • Improves fish passage for coho, chum, steelhead and cutthroat trout to move upstream to spawn and rear.
  • Improves water quality and in-stream habitat.
Public Meeting:
A public meeting was held January 16, 2014, at Peninisula High School. Community members who attended learned about the two project options being considered. People were asked for their input on the options. Meeting resources can be found in Project Plans and Documents.
