What's Happening
Pierce County has declared the project Substantially Complete as of April 21, 2016. The contractor, Ceccanti, Inc., will be on site to complete the signal system punch list and to maintain roadside plants during a 1 year plant establishment period which will conclude in March 2017.
About the Project
This project improves the intersection at 176th St E and 78th Ave E (CRP 5723) by widening the roadway and upgrading the traffic signal system.  Improvements include the following:
  • Providing an eastbound right-turn lane and a westbound u-turn.
  • Providing stormwater treatment facilities.
  • Upgrade the traffic signal system.
Project Timeline
July 24, 2015: Pierce County awarded the contract to Ceccanti, Inc.

Sept. 8, 2015: Pierce County hosted the Pre-Construction Meeting

Oct. 26, 2015: Notice To Proceed date

Nov. 23, 2015: Beginning of Utility Window

Dec. 18, 2015: End of Utility Window

Substantial Completion 

Winter, 2016-2017: Plant establishment period

Spring, 2017: Anticipated Physical Completion
