Chief of Staff Dawn Farina elected Tacoma-Pierce County Bar President
dawn farinaDawn Farina was elected in 2013 to serve as the 2014-2015 Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association (TPCBA) President on behalf of over 1,400 members. The TPCBA is one of the largest lawyer associations in Washington State. Prior to becoming president, Farina served as the vice-president and as a trustee for the organization.

Farina is the senior deputy prosecutor responsible for overseeing the three divisions and more than 200 employees of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She develops and administers policy, personnel and budget decisions to ensure the effective and efficient daily operation of the office.

During her 24 years as a deputy prosecutor, Farina has prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including robbery, kidnapping, rape, domestic violence, child abuse, burglary and others. Farina has also tried numerous homicide cases before juries, including the 30-year-old murder of Joseph Tarricone, a father of seven children, who disappeared in 1978. In 2009, his killers were convicted of the murder and sentenced to 40 years to life in prison. True crime author Ann Rule wrote about the case in her 2011 book, “Don’t Look Behind You.”

Farina, a Puget Sound native, is a 1988 graduate of the University of Puget Sound School of Law and a 1985 graduate of Washington State University.
