Flooding
November 26, 2014 - Updated 10:30 a.m.

A FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for the Puyallup River near Orting. Flows peaked around 4 p.m. Tuesday and are expected to continue receding Wednesday morning. Localized flooding will continue through Wednesday.

A FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for the remainder of the Puyallup River (Lower and Middle reach), White River and Nisqually River (middle and lower reach). A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but flooding is not imminent or occurring. Residents are encouraged to monitor the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS) and be ready to take the necessary actions to protect life and property, if flooding occurs or a flood warning is issued by the NWS.

Another weather system may bring additional rain to the Cascades Wednesday night through Thursday night. That rain could result in additional flooding of Pierce County rivers. Residents living in or near river floodplains are urged to watch conditions and forecasts closely and take the necessary and proper actions to protect life and property.
