Two Buckley men were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Inside their home, police found $91,000 cash and 425 oxycodone pills. Police searched a hidden compartment in an SUV and found more than 31 pounds of meth. "This was a major drug bust in an ongoing effort to stop the methamphetamine pipeline from Mexico," said Prosecutor Mark Lindquist.

Matthew Haygood was charged with vehicular homicide for driving drunk and crashing into a family's vehicle near Spanaway, killing the father. The mother lost an eye, and the 12-year-old daughter suffered a spinal fracture and two broken legs. Haygood fled, but returned to the scene four hours later. He told police he was drinking at a friend's house prior to getting behind the wheel. Toxicology reports are pending.

Stanley Guidroz pleaded not guilty to killing his 3-year-old son in 1983. Guidroz claimed his son went missing while they were fishing at Point Defiance Park. In 2014, while serving a sentence in a Louisiana prison for murdering his wife, Guidroz confessed to killing his son and burying his body at the Tacoma waterfront. "This is another success for the Cold Case Unit," said Prosecutor Mark Lindquist.
