Disaster assistance for public entities
When disasters in Pierce County affect hundreds or thousands of people and cause millions in damages, a federal declaration may be issued, freeing up federal dollars to help assist public entities begin the recovery process.

Under the Public Assistance (PA) program, FEMA may provide aid to the communities, government organizations and private nonprofit organizations to help them recover from disasters as quickly as possible.

This program provides partial reimbursement for costs associated with debris removal, emergency protective measures, and permanent restoration of infrastructure. The program also encourages protection from future damage by providing assistance for hazard mitigation measures during the recovery process.

If your public entity has been affected by a federally declared disaster, please contact us.
