A Sound Approach
Used by executives, celebrities, golf professionals, and aviation enthusiasts, the airport is a relaxed alternative to
the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
TIW has a control tower, instrument landing system, and a 5,002-foot runway with two fixed based operators (FBO's).
Effective immediately, the FAA has approved the creation of Taxiway B on the western portion of the TIW parking apron. While Runway 16/34 is in use, Taxiway B extends the full length of the airport parking apron.
A Tacoma Narrows Airport (TIW) Runway 17/35 Rehabilitation Project Guide, providing the details and expected timeframes for the various phases of the project, has been released. The construction start date is Monday, April 29, 2013 at 8:00 AM PDT.
