If you are a first-time homebuyer and your income falls below HUD's income guidelines you may be eligible to purchase a home in Pierce County through the Pierce County Housing Program's First-Time Homebuyer Program.
The First-Time Homebuyers Program provides eligible and qualified first-time homebuyers no down payment below market rate mortgages. The homes available for purchase under this program will be Pierce County Community Development Corporation-owned properties that are in Pierce County outside the city limits of Tacoma and Lakewood.

Please keep in mind that questionnaires will only be accepted from 8am, Monday, March 19, 2012 to 4:30pm, Friday, March 30, 2012. The questionnaires must be returned to the Pierce County, Department of Community Connections, Housing Programs Office at 3602 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98418. Fax or email questionnaires will not be accepted.
Your questionnaire will be reviewed considering credit ratings and your debt to income ratio. If you qualify, you will be placed on a waiting list on a first come basis. You will be notified when a home becomes available. Attending a five hour educational First Time Homebuyer Class is required prior to closing. Applicants wishing to purchase within the city limits of Tacoma or Lakewood should contact that city for program information.
This program is intended to facilitate acquisition of affordable housing for low income families. Houses for this program come from a variety of sources. The program won a Certificate of Environmental Achievement from the National Awards Council for Environmental Sustainability. Some houses have been donated to the program, others have been acquired during foreclosure proceedings. All homes are rehabilitated to meet local codes and health and safety standards.
