Ordinance No. 2009-45 County programs that provide for the preservation of open space include the Conservation Futures program, codified in Chapter 2.97 PCC, the Open Space Current Use Assessment program, codified in Chapter 2.114 PCC and the Pierce County Zoning Code, codified in Section 18A.35.050. These County programs which acquire or preserve open space areas are required to be consistent with the priorities included in the Pierce County Comprehensive Plan, Chapter 19D.170 PCC. Proposed Ordinance No. 2009-45 includes various amendments intended to provide consistency between the Pierce County Comprehensive Plan and the County Programs that implement the Comprehensive Plan.
The Community Development Committee will hold a public hearing on this proposal on June 15, 2009. The final hearing on this proposal has not been scheduled for final Council consideration.
