Pierce County Emergency Medical Services' mission is to promote quality prehospital emergency patient care through

1) Supervision of emergency medical training;
2) Recommendation of EMS personnel for certification/recertification/decertification;
3) Development of patient care protocols; and
4) Participation in the administration of patient care policies and procedures.

Certification/Recertification Testing

Testing is at the Department of Emergency Management in the Pierce County Annex West:
2501 S 35th St, Suite 'D'
Tacoma WA 98409-7405

Exams are administered in the new Emergency Operations Center. Please see the Test Schedule for details on scheduling your exams.

The entrance to the EOC is on the left just past the chain link fence. It is a secured area so you will not be able to enter prior to 1200 noon. Please call us at 253-798-7722 if you have any questions.
