The Forensic Investigation Section is part of the Criminal Investigation Division.

This section is a consolidation of three units:

- Clerical

- Technical/Laboratory

- Forensic Investigators

Job Shadows: Due to job safety requirements and the confidential nature of our work we cannot provide job shadows in the Forensic Investigation Section of our Department.

Internships: Internships are coordinated between the college or university representative and the Forensic Investigations Manager and are only provided when they are a requirement for graduation. Each intern must pass the same background investigation as the current employees due to the confidential nature of our work.

Its purpose is to provide the Sheriff's Department with a comprehensive forensic investigative capability at any crime scene. The Forensic Investigation Unit has a wide range of equipment for crime scene processing along with a trained staff knowledgeable of its operation.
