Provides information to pro se litigants (individuals not represented by an attorney) on court forms that may be required in domestic relations matters. Their office does not provide legal advice, but is able to advise as to where necessary forms may be obtained and how they are prepared. Their offices are located in Rooms 104 & 119 of the County-City Building.

This unit provides administrative and courtroom support to the Domestic Violence Program. To file a Petition for an Order for Protection in a domestic violence situation, you may come in to Room 108 in the County-City Building . There is no charge for this service. All necessary forms, and assistance in preparing them properly, are available in Room 108.

Assistance in matters regarding Anti-Harassment can be obtained from the Pierce County District Court in Room 601 in the County-City Building.

Domestic Violence Kiosk Locations

Petitions for an Order for Protection may also be filed electronically at kiosks that are available at the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center, 718 Court E, Tacoma, and at the YWCA of Pierce County, 405 Broadway, Tacoma.

Also, if you are a resident of one of the following cities, or areas, you may file an electronic Petition for an Order for Protection by going to the locations indicated:

City of Lakewood; the Towne Center, 6000 Main Street. Ask to talk to an advocate at the third floor reception desk.

City of Gig Harbor, or the Key Peninsula; the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor. Speak to a Gig Harbor Municipal Court employee at the window just inside the front door.

City of University Place; the University Place Police Department, 3631 74th Ave. W, Suite A. Ask at the reception desk for directions and assistance.

City of Bonney Lake; the Bonney Lake City Hall, 19306 Bonney Lake Blvd. Ask at the reception desk for directions and assistance.

City of Sumner; the Sumner City Hall/Police Station, 1104 Main Street. Ask at the reception desk for directions and assistance.

Provides all services and support for civil commitment proceedings through the Superior Court at Western State Hospital and other local medical facilities.

Courtroom support is provided for hearings regarding the civil commitment of individuals at Western State Hospital. In addition, information is also available regarding those resources accessible for the evaluation of individuals suspected of needing assistance regarding mental health matters.

Probates & Adoptions - Estates which must be probated by the court, guardianships of individuals who are judged to be not competent to care for themselves and adoptions of minors and other individuals are filed with the Superior Court in Room 110 in the County-City Building.

Is responsible for the docketing, satisfaction and extension of all Superior Court judgments and State of Washington Tax Warrants. All judgment awards must include a judgment summary as prescribed per RCW 4.64.030.
Fiscal Services .......................................................(253) 798-7460
Is responsible for the receipt of and accounting for all funds which are received by the Clerk for fees, fines and trusts and coordinating use of and training for JASS and JRS systems for Clerk and Juvenile Court staffs. Trust funds that require investment must be accompanied by a request for investment form (available from the Clerk's Office) and an IRS Form W-9 (also available from the Clerk's Office).

Payments for Superior Court ordered bail, courts costs, fines and restitution may be made in Room 110 in the County-City Building, or you may also mail payments to this location. All payments must be payable to the Pierce County Clerk and must be made by money order, cashiers' check or cash. Personal checks are not accepted for payment by the Clerk's Office. If a return receipt is desired, a self-addressed, stamped envelope must be provided.

All Superior Court related criminal cases that are not monitored by the Department of Corrections for financial compliance are subject to monitoring by the Clerk's Office. Failure to make monthly payments towards court ordered legal financial obligations results in the case being referred to a commercial collection agency. To make payment arrangements or inquire about a particular case, contact the Pierce County Clerk's Office.

All non-sealed Superior Court records are available for public review in Room 110 in the County-City Building. Copies of court documents are available for $5.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page of the document. All payments must be payable to the Pierce County Clerk and must be made by money order, cashiers' check or cash. Personal checks are not accepted for payment by the Clerk's Office.
