For a felony conviction in a Washington court, the defendant?s right to vote is provisionally restored as long as that person is no longer under the authority of the Department of Corrections. Once the right to vote has been provisionally restored, the sentencing court may revoke the provisional voting rights of the defendant if the sentencing court determines that the person has willfully failed to comply with the terms of their court order to pay their legal financial obligation, including restitution. If the defendant has failed to make three (3) payments in a twelve (12) month period and you make a request, the Prosecuting Attorney shall seek revocation of the defendant?s provisional right to vote.
You may make your request to: Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, 9th floor, County City Building, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Tacoma, WA 98402. Please include the case number for which you are entitled restitution in your correspondence.
