Daisy Stallworth

The staff of the Pierce County Department of Community Services and its Citizens Advisory Board is proud to have its Annual Award Ceremony named after Daisy M. Stallworth, the late Executive Director of the Community & Human Services Division. Although Daisy lost her battle with cancer in 1997, her courage, determination, compassion and personal interaction with people, as well as her professional accomplishments and contributions to the community will always be remembered.

Annual Awards:

Community Development Award

Recognizes an agency or group that has received block grand funds for a project that has made a substantial impact on the community

Community Services Award

Recognizes a partner, agency or business that goes the extra mile to help those in need

D.A.S.H. Award

Which stands for Decent, Affordable, Safe Housing, recognizes a landlord or housing owner for their commitment to creating housing opportunities for low-income residents in Pierce County

Violence Prevention Award

The Community Services Violence Prevention Award recognizes a program or an individual that has made significant improvements for the general community or a targeted population in reducing or preventing violence.

Daisy Stallworth Achievement Award

Recognizes a program participant who has overcome major barriers and is making a better life for his/herself, family and community.
