The Mission of Pierce County District Court Probation

Provide the Courts with thorough, accurate, and timely reports

Interview the probationer, and other selected individuals who may have information about the probationer.

Review the incident reports, criminal record history, driver abstracts, and court documents concerning the offender.

Make appropriate sentencing recommendations.

Inform the court of the probationer's status.

Assess each probationer and provide supervision at the designated classification level

Schedule an intake assessment appointment for each Domestic Violence offender within seven working days of their court appearance.

Hold probationers accountable for their behavior

Maintain complete and accurate case records for each client.

Involve offenders in case planning.

Record conditions of supervision on the Probation Agreement.

Review the directives of the court with the offender.

Manage human and fiscal resources in a responsible manner

Promote staff safety on the job through training and staff development.

Encourage creativity and initiative among staff.

Monitor and control budgets within the allocated levels.
