The executive division of administration assists the County Executive with the performance of his duties and responsibilities in the areas of financial planning, budgeting and accounting services; security of assets and safety of employees in the workplace; employment services to applicants and County departments; development and maintenance of information systems and communication networks; maintenance of County owned facilities and assistance to departments with facilities planning. Its mission is to promote the internal operational effectiveness of the County's business functions and to provide essential, cost-effective support services to County departments.

The Executive Division of Operations performs the County Executive duties and responsibilities for planning, programs and infrastructure related to land use planning, permitting and enforcement, transportation systems, parks and recreation, water resources and waste disposal. The mission of the Division is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in partnership with the citizens of Pierce County by providing a range of public services which promote recreational opportunities, a flourishing economic natural environment, and a safe and efficient transportation system. Its mission is to support the community's quality of life by responding effectively to the challenge of crime and promoting safety through prevention and preparedness.
