Contractor Opoortunities
The Pierce County Facilities Management Construction Division offers various types of vendor/contractor opportunities which include:

Invitations to Bid for goods, materials, equipment and services (other than professional/ technical) exceeding $25,000 and construction over $10,000 (except Small Works).

Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Professional/ Technical Services exceeding $25,000.

Small works Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for construction/public works projects between $10,000 and $200,000.

NOTE: For most purchases less than $10,000, County departments are authorized to solicit quotes directly from vendors. To submit quotes, vendors must be on the Pierce County registered bidders roster.

Bidding, RFP, RFQ and Small Works Request for Quotations, including modifications and addenda, are distributed electronically. To receive notifications, and be included on the planholders list you will need to register as a bidder with Pierce County. You may begin the process on the Budget & Finance Bidder Registration page.

Please note that all proposals and bids must adhere precisely to the specifications and the procedures stated in the solicitation, and that specifications may be updated during the RFP / RFQ process.

Purchasing Policies

Beginning March 1, 2010 many Pierce County contracts will require contractor participation in the Federal E-verify program.

Contract Compliance Help
The Contract Compliance Office helps contractors on Pierce County projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding:
  • Subcontracting issues
  • Fair Labor Standards
  • On-site monitoring for prevailing wage and equal employment opportunity

Contract Compliance monitors all Pierce County projects from contract award through the final payment at the close of the project. Contractors are required to regularly submit reporting paperwork to the Contract Compliance office.
