The Phase 2 renovations include construction improvements to the second floor North Wing (C-Wing) of the County-City Building and a small portion of work to the North Wing to attach it to the adjacent jail.

Phase 2 is part of a four phase overal renovation of the County-City Building. The four phases will be the largest remodel of the County-City Building in a decade and involves nearly 60,000 square feet on five floors.

Demolition of 2nd Floor C-Wing

ENTRANCE CLOSURE: The direct route from the Merit Building to the County-City Building will close permanently Friday, Sept. 14 when the breezeway between South 9th Street and the loading dock entrance is shut down for the CCB Phase 2 renovation project. The two entrances to the north wing (C-Wing) from the breezeway also will be closed permanently.
Phase 2 is aimed at converting space on the 2nd floor of C-Wing into three courtrooms and adminstrative space for Superior Court and installing enhanced courthouse security systems. A new entry will be provided at the north end of C-wing as part of the $8.9 million Phase 2 work. |
| The interior stairwell at the north end of C-Wing will be temporarily closed on and off the 2nd Floor. The north stairwell will serve as an emergency exit to the first-floor and Tacoma Avenue for the duration of the project. |
