This unit provides Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) services to dependent children under the age of eighteen years who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected and/or have no parent(s) willing or capable to adequately care for the child. A CASA/GAL advocates for the interests of the child, monitors all court orders to ensure compliance, and brings to the Court's attention any change in circumstances that may require modification of the court order. The CASA/GAL (through his/her attorney) may subpoena, examine witnesses, cross-examine witnesses, and bring motions to ensure that the best interests of the child will be protected by the Court. Dependency: Guardian ad litem
