State vs Jermaine Jerelle Harris
Harris was convicted of assault of a child in the first degree for assaulting his two month old son in 2007. The infant suffered severe, permanent brain damage after Harris violently shook him. DPA Lori Kooiman handled the prosecution of Harris, who was sentenced to 10 years, three months in prison.

State vs Johsua Elias Boyd
DPA Sven Nelson successfully prosecuted Boyd, a violent offender with extensive criminal history, for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend. In violation of a domestic violence court order, Boyd went to the victim's home and stabed her multiple times in the neck, chest and leg. Children were present in the home at the time of the assault. A jury found Boyd guilty of attempted murder in the first degree, assault in thefirst degree and domestic violence court order violation. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison.

State vs Osborn
A jury convicted Josephus Osborn of 28 counts of residential burglary, burglary in the first degree, theft and trafficking in stolen property related to a string of burglaries committed in 2008. Many of the crimes were committed with four of Osborn's cohorts, who were also charged and pleaded guilty to multiple counts, resulting in sentences up to 63 months in prison. Osborn was sentenced to nine years, eight months in prison. DPA Dione Hauger handled the prosecution of all defendants.

State vs Silvis
A jury found Ann Marie Silvis guilty of 15 counts of Theft in the First Degree for stealing $120,000 from a 92 year-old woman living in a retirement home. Silvis befriended the victim, gained her trust and over the course of a year, persuaded the victim to write checks to her and her family members for a total of over $120,000. Rosie Martinelli prosecuted Silvis, who was sentenced to 171 months in prison.
