Pointer worked extensively with community organizations, schools, businesses, and news media helping to engage participation in public parks and recreation. Aaron currently serves as a Park Board Member for MetroParks Tacoma.
Prior to graduation from McClymond High School, Aaron was an all star high school basketball player, as well as the Student Body President for the Class of 1959. He was awarded a full basketball scholarship to the University of San Francisco. In 1961, Aaron signed a National League Baseball contract with the Houston Colt 45 as a first baseman. His Topps NLB card was issued in 1967. Aaron was known as one of the first to hit a home run inside the Astro Dome. Aaron continued playing for the Tacoma Cubs in 1968-69 before signing with the Nishitetsu Lions of Fukuoka, Japan. He ended his professional baseball career in 1971.
Aaron became a PAC 10 Football Official in 1978, serving 9 years. In 1987, he was hired as a National Football League Official where he was Head Linesman No. 79. Throughout his NFL official career, Aaron has officiated preseason games in Germany and Japan, league games, and a number of Playoff and Pro-Bowl games. Aaron retired from the National Football League Official in 2003.
