Fort Steilacoom Golf Course

Premier Golf logo On-line Tee Times, Specials and Promotions are managed through Premier Golf.

Premier Golf operates the golf club house operation and provides concessionaire services to both Lake Spanaway and Fort Steilacoom golf courses.

Fort Steilacoom Golf Course is a fun, 9 hole golf course and features dual tees for an 18 hole round. The course is built on 105 acres adjacent to the Western State Hospital in Lakewood, Washington on land leased through the state Department of Natural Resources. Pierce County was asked by the State of Washington Department of Natural Resources to manage the site in January 1971, with an agreement that runs through December 31, 2024.

The County has operated the facility as a public course and park since 1971. Join us for the extended golf season we enjoy each year at one of the Pacific Northwest's driest golf course.

Fort Steilacoom offers a snack bar with cold sandwiches, hot dogs, pop and coffee. Premier Golf provides clubhouse operations and concessionaire services. Through Premier we offer on line tee times.

Tee times are taken 5 days in advance.

Ft. Steilacoom Golf Course Layout
Hole Yds HDCP Par Description
1 330 5 4 Tree lined on both sides, this is a good starting hole with a slight dogleg left and out of bounds on the left side of fairway.
2 275 11 4 This is a very short Par 4 that plays straight away. The closer you get to the green the narrow fairway comes into play with out of bounds down the left side. Greenside bunkers are in play!
3 350 1 4 The third hole is a very good Par 4 that is straight away with a tree lined fairway from 150 yards into the green. Par is a good score here.
4 175 15 3 Challenging Par 3 with its length of 175 yards to 180 yards. This very small green is enclosed by picturesque tall Evergreens and old Oak trees. Par is excellent!
5 440 7 5 Finally a little breather here. Shorter Par 5 with a fairway bunker down the right side and green side bunkers enclosed by very big Evergreens!
6 180 7 3 Don't let the look fool you! This is a tricky little Par 3 with a fence lined left side and a small green that is bunker filled. One wrong move and the golf ball visits Chambers Creek or the old paper mill. Par is super!
7 345 3 4 Good Par 4, dogleg left with out of bounds down the entire left side. Take a chance and cut the corner or play it safe with mid-iron off the tree. The green is flat and bunkers along with the trees on the right and left.
8 165 7 3 Most severe putting surface on the whole course with a small landing area. Do not let the yardage fool you or bogey will loom very quickly. Hit enough club and par may be to your liking.
9 260 13 4 Keep your wits about you unless you don't mind watching a baseball game next to the green. This is a dogleg right, out of bounds left all the way with Pierce College Titans' ball fields standing in the way of mishit woods. The iron may be the tee shot of choice here to a well bunkered putting surface!
