Parks Limited Services

Thanks to the County Executive and County Council, additional funds were allocated to the Parks Department to allow for high use parks of Spanaway Park and Lake Tapps Park to be open 7 days a week through the summer months.

In addition, Dawson Playfield and Gonyea Playfield will now be mowed and the restrooms will be open through the summer months.

Limited Service Park Listing

Due to fiscal constraints, several Pierce County park sites will have Limited Services in 2011. 'Limited Services' means:

Little or no maintenance.
They will not have restrooms available or trash receptacles.
There will be no irrigation of the fields, and the parks will not be mowed.
Response time to park issues are only on an emergency and time available basis.

Due to this, there will be no reservations at the following parks, nor will there be field rentals unless otherwise noted.

Although the public will still have access to the parks designated as limited service sites, we are requesting that they keep in mind the restrictions on these parks.

Please 'pack it in, pack it out' and remove the garbage when leaving the park.
