2009 WORK PROGRAM

1. Update the Countywide Planning Policies (CPPs) in order to be consistent with VISION 2040.
2. Work with the PSRC Transportation 2040 policies proposal.

3. Work with the PSRC implementation of VISION 2040.

4. Develop an ongoing strategy by which the PCRC may advocate effectively for the funding of significant regional projects in Pierce County.

5. Make recommendations for transportation funding priorities to guide the TCC recommendation process.

6. Review and make recommendations pertaining to Pierce County's Comprehensive Plan Amendments.

7. Review and approve procedures/recommend update to the Population and Employment Allocations.

8. Review and approve amendments to the CPPs regarding New Manufacturing/Industrial Centers and Regional Growth Center designations.



1. Provide quarterly reports to the PCRC.

2. Provide support and technical assistance to the PCRC on amendments to the CPPs as requested.

3. Continue to implement the Buildable Lands legislation and update CPPs as necessary.

4. Provide recommendations on procedures and generate draft Population/Housing and Employment Allocations.

5. Update the CPP for consistency with VISION 2040.

6. Discuss updating Comprehensive Plans to be consistent with VISION 2040.

7. Review and provide recommendations on the 2010 Comprehensive Plan Amendments.

8. Review and recommend amendments on the CPPs regarding new Manufacturing/Industrial Centers and Regional Growth Center designations.

9. Legislative monitoring.

10. Briefings to the PCRC on relevant planning issues as requested.


1. Provide quarterly reports to the PCRC.


2. Review and update the Transportation Policies in the CPP and provide technical assistance to the PCRC on CPP transportation element amendments as requested.


3. Provide the PCRC pertinent information regarding regional and countywide transportation issues at the earliest possible stage, so the PCRC may take any action it deems appropriate in a timely manner.


4. Rate and recommend projects to the PCRC for any available funding.

5. Work with the PSRC on VISION 2040 Update, providing appropriate input.
