Pierce County provides an excellent choice of medical plans, offered to both employees and dependents, which includes two levels of self-insured Preferred Provider Plans administered by Regence BlueShield, and GroupHealth Options, an HMO with an option to visit providers outside of the GroupHealth system. Most employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement have the option of the Washington Teamsters Welfare Trust Plan A, or the Washington Teamsters Welfare Trust GroupHealth Options Plan. All plans include vision and pharmacy coverage.
