Stairway Art - Dedicated August 21, 2008, the County-City Building west stairwell now has a mural featuring scenes of popular activities and locations around Pierce County. The Wellness Committee encourages all building employees to take a healthy step or two or three and enjoy artist Cathy Fields' artwork, which will be on display.
The Wellness Works Newsletter, published monthly on-line, includes topics such as making healthy food choices, exercise tips, stress management, health screenings, living a healthy lifestyle, and more. The current issue, and one year of back issues, are available to employees and family members on the internet. A username and password are necessary to access the newsletter, and are available on the employee intranet and in monthly e-mails announcing the most current issue. A paper copy may be printed with one click from a PDF file.
Flu Vaccinations On-site: A nurse will visit work sites each fall to administer flu vaccinations for a minimal fee.
Fitness opportunities such as a waived joining fee Pierce County employees for the YMCA and All Star Fitness.
