Central Pierce Fire and Rescue's Station 69 is located at the southeast corner of the airfield and is accessed from 110 Ave E. The station was built in 1984 and is 5,000 square feet. The fire station is staffed by three full time firefighters, 24 hours a day. Station 69 has a fire engine for the majority of the calls, and a brush truck for wildland fires. When staffing allows, an advanced life support medic unit is also in service. Central Pierce's hazardous material response equipment is also housed at the station. There is a helipad available for airborne EMS transport or search and rescue. Station 69 responds to over 1,000 calls a year.
