Word on the Street: Improvements to Wollochet Drive NW (East Bay Drive NW to Fillmore Drive NW)

What's Happening
Pierce County will be improving approximately 0.41 mile of Wollochet Drive NW (CRP 5542). Improvements, designed to relieve traffic congestion, include:

  • Expanding the roadway to five lanes.
  • Adding concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and retaining walls.
  • Installing street lighting.
  • Adding an enclosed storm drain system.
  • Improving the existing traffic signal at Fillmore Drive NW.

Design work on this project is being coordinated with the Wollochet Drive NW (40th Street NW to East Bay Drive NW) (CRP 5696) project.

November 2011
This project was selected by the Transportation Improvement Board for $2.15M in Fiscal Year 2013 Rapid Action Funding. This funding fills a critical funding gap and will allow the project to be constructed starting in mid 2012.
