Word on the street: Improvements to 22nd Avenue East / 152nd Street East (Intersection)

What's Happening
We're improving the intersection of 22nd Avenue East and 152nd Street East (CRP 5650). This project will increase the efficiency of the intersection, improve safety, and include the following improvements:

• Constructing a westbound left-turn lane and an eastbound right-turn lane on 152nd Street East.
• Constructing a right-turn lane on northbound 22nd Avenue East.
• Constructing concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk.
• Constructing an enclosed storm drainage system, as well as stormwater treatment and storage facilities.
• Installing a traffic signal system.
• Improving intersection street lighting.
• Improving sight distance.

December 2009

• Engineering: Proposed roadway alignment and profile design need to be finalized.
• Land: Additional Right-Of-Way needs are being assessed.

• April 2009 to October 2010: Complete Preliminary Design Engineering.
• To Be Determined: Initiate Environmental Documentation and acquire additional Right-Of-Way. Complete Construction Plans, Specifications, Estimates, and Construction.
