What is Happening?
The Stewart Road Improvement Project (CRP 5660) will widen and rebuild a heavily traveled arterial in the North Pierce County area between the Stuck River and Lake Tapps Parkway East.

This project has been awarded grant funding from the Transportation Improvement Board as part of the Transportation Partnership Program and was designed in cooperation with the City of Sumner.

The Latest:
The project is nearing completion. Our Contractor, Goodfellow Brothers, is working on the following items:

The work has been suspended pending completion of plant establishment in December.
Project is near Substantial Completion Date.

What's the schedule?

June 29, 2009: Pierce County hosted the Pre-Construction Meeting.
July 10, 2009: Pierce County issued the Notice to Proceed.
July 13, 2009: Goodfellow Bros. begins relocating the stream.
July-Sept, 2009: Preparing the road for widening.
May, 2010: North Side work, including first lift of asphalt, curb and gutter.
June - July, 2010: South side work including asphalt, curb and gutter.
Aug - Sept, 2010: Final lift of asphalt.
End of 2011: Expected Substantial Completion Date and Physical Completion Date.
