What's Happening

We're improving the intersection of Key Peninsula Hwy KPN/Olson Drive KPN/ Cramer Road KPN Intersection (CRP 5740). Improvements include:

• Adding north bound and south bound left-turn lanes on Key Peninsula Hwy KPN.
• Widening the existing roadway to include sidewalks at the intersection and paved shoulders.
• Improving existing enclosed storm drain system and adding stormwater treatment facilities.
• Replacing the existing flashing beacon traffic signal system with a new fully actuated traffic signal system.
• Improvements are being designed to be consistent with the Key Peninsula Community Plan (KPCP) and will facilitate further, implementation of the KPCP.

December 2010

• Engineering: We're finishing the final engineering phase for the roadway design, traffic signal system, traffic channelization, the enclosed storm drainage system, and the stormwater treatment facilities.
• Land: Right-of-way acquisition is nearing completion.
• Survey: Surveys, that identify the existing roadway and right-of-way limits, are complete.
• Funding: Money has recently been allocated to fill the void in construction costs.

• June 2009 to March 2011: Final engineering, utility relocation coordination, environmental documents, construction plans and estimates.
• January 2011: Finalize acquisition of right-of-way property and easements.
• May 2011: Begin construction.
