What's happening
We're designing improvements to the intersection of Woodland Avenue East and 160th Street East (CRP 5753). When constructed, the improvements are intended to improve safety and relieve traffic congestion; they include:
- Adding a new traffic signal.
- Adding concrete curbs, gutter, and sidewalks on northern corners of the intersection to compliment similar improvements constructed on the southern corners by a developer in the Summer of 2010.
- Adding sidewalk on southern corners of the intersection.
- Adding right turn only lane on west-bound 160th Street East to north-bound Woodland Avenue East.
- Adding intersection street lighting.
- Adding an enclosed storm drain system as well as stormwater treatment and storage facilities.
We're working on securing additional funds to be used in the final design, environmental permitting, right-of-way acquisition and construction phase.
In addition, we are also working to install an interim traffic signal at this intersection in the summer of 2012. No turn lanes or sidewalks will be constructed as part of this interim project.
