Pierce County Ferry Schedule

Starting Jan. 1, 2012, fares will increase slightly to support the operation of the ferry. No refunds will be issued after Feb. 15 for tickets purchased prior to the change.

Ketron Island passengers will need to make a reservation 20 minutes in advance by calling 253-588-1950.

Also, the Sunday schedule has changed; the first ferry of the day will leave at 6:45 a.m. instead of 7 a.m.

Full service ticketing is available at the Steilacoom Ferry Landing. Customers can purchase tickets using a debit or credit card at the Anderson Island Store kiosk, and online by clicking on any Buy Tickets link. The following payment types are accepted:

  • Cash (U.S. currency)
  • Credit cards (Visa or MasterCard only)
  • TRANBEN
Infrequently, the automated ticketing system may be out of service. During those times, only single tickets can be manually sold at the Steilacoom terminal.


Vehicles, drivers, and passengers must be in position 20 minutes prior to printed departure times or they may not be allowed aboard the ferry.

(1) Does not run on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
(2) On Sundays only, the 7am ferry will depart at 6:45am and go to Ketron before going to Anderson.
(3) Only runs on weekends, New Year's Eve & Day, Memorial Day, July 3rd-4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve & Day.
* Cancelled 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month for fuel run.

All fares are round-trip and collected at the Steilacoom Ferry Landing.
There is no monthly or annual ferry pass available.

  • Take Interstate-5 South
  • Take Exit 125 northbound on Bridgeport Way
  • Follow Bridgeport Way and turn left onto Steilacoom Boulevard
  • Turn right onto Puyallup Street
  • Turn left onto Rainier Street
  • Turn right onto Union Avenue and proceed to the Steilacoom Landing

From Olympia

  • Take Interstate-5 North
  • Take Exit 119 'DuPont/Steilacoom'
  • Turn left onto Clark Road, which becomes Barksdale Avenue
  • Turn right onto DuPont-Steilacoom Road
  • Bear left on DuPont-Steilacoom Road
  • DuPont-Steilacoom Road becomes Union Avenue, follow Union Avenue to the Steilacoom Landing
