Word on the Street: Replacement of the City of Roy's North Warren Street Bridge #ROY34182-C (at Muck Creek)

What's Happening
This project (CSM 6152), managed by Pierce County for the City of Roy, will provide for the improvements of North Warren Street at its crossing of Muck Creek. Improvements, designed to improve safety and replace an existing bridge include:

• Remove the existing bridge.
• Reconstruct the new bridge and approach roadways.
• The new bridge will be constructed with prestressed concrete girders.
• The bridge will be two lanes with paved shoulders.
• North Warren Street will be closed during construction.

April 2010

• Engineering: We are in the Final Engineering Phase of the project, this includes finalizing the structural and civil plans and details and finalizing the environmental process.
• Survey: Preliminary topography survey is complete.
• Geotechnical: Geotechnical investigations have been conducted.
• Right-of-way: Final right-of-way plan has been completed. This project will require the acquisition of temporary easements and driveway reconstruction permits.

• June 2007 to December 2007: Completed assessment of project needs.
• July 2008 to December 2010: Finalize project design and complete environmental permitting.
• Winter 2009 to Fall 2010: Complete construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Late Summer/Early Fall 2011: Construction.
