The Survey Section uses state-of-the-art technologies to provide horizontal and vertical survey control for Public Works and Utilities and other County departments
Ensures preliminary data collected for transportation projects is adequate and accurate, and that transportation projects are constructed in compliance with the engineer's design by providing field control staking
Determines correct location of County right-of-way
Ensures correct legal descriptions for right-of-way vacations and annexations
Establishes, perpetuates and maintains county-wide horizontal and vertical control program (Integrated Survey Control Utility Program); Public Lands Survey Control, (e.g. section and quarter corner control); and Aerial photography and contour mapping control
Maintains data for the GIS-based Survey Control database, which includes information on the Continually Operating Reference System (CORS)
