We're building a new sewer interceptor pipeline 27 to 30 feet below the surface of the road to increase capacity for the county's sewer service area.
An interceptor is a sewer line that receives wastewater from multiple collector pipes and transmits it to a wastewater treatment plant. Interceptors are usually 15 inches or greater in diameter.
The new interceptor consists of 30 and 36-inch diameter gravity pipes and is being installed below B Street East from just south of 176th St. E to 192nd St. E.
The third phase of this project will extend the sewer pipeline south to Pacific Avenue.
Current Status - March 7, 2012
This project is temporarily on hold due to high ground water levels. Project will resume when water levels decrease and weather conditions improve.
