Illegal dumping is the improper accumulation of solid waste on private property. This includes things like household garbage, appliances, furniture, and tires.

Solid waste issues that go unaddressed pose health and safety risks to people and animals and the potential for hazardous waste contamination.

Report to Pierce County Responds:
County Road
Pierce County is responsible for removing illegally dumped waste in the County right-of-way.

What Happens Next?
We forward the information to the Pierce County Public Works & Utilities Road Operations Division for cleanup.
private property or roads
The property ower is responsible for removing illegally dumped waste on private property or a private road.

What Happens Next?
If you are the victim of illegal dumping, Pierce County Responds may be able to provide a Litter Credit, which pays up to $125 in disposal fees at designated facilities.

If you are reporting illegal dumping on property other than your own, Pierce County Responds forwards the information to the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for investigation.
