The Transportation Planning and Programming Division lays the foundation for improvements to meet Pierce County's transportation challenges today and tomorrow. From identifying needs, to finding viable solutions, our comprehensive approach contributes to the quality of life of residents, visitors, employers and employees.
We work at the front end of the process helping to take projects from concept to completion. Once projects have been developed, we secure funding and then put them in the workplan to get them built. The primary budget workplan is the Pierce County Six Year Transportation Improvement Program - also known as the TIP.
