The General Maintenance Deputy is responsible for keying locks and handles, cutting all keys for Jail locks, replacing broken or worn keys and issuing keys to staff. The General Maintenance Deputy sees to installation and minor repair of locks. The officer also maintains the inventory and minor repair of radios. The GMD ensures that scheduled maintenance is performed: cleaning and inspection is completed on county vehicles. He/she works with the County Garage on repairs. The GMD works to repair alarms, replaces batteries, and repairs lockers and replaces locker keys as needed.
